This recipe is from my 1940's era cookbook. It's a chewier kind, not the cake-like (it doesn't have much flour)

 ½ cup butter, melted
 1 cup brown sugar
 1 egg
 ½ cup flour (or gf flour)
 2 tbsp cocoa powder
 vanilla
 ¾ cup nuts, chopped

Mix and bake at 350º for 25-30 minutes.
