Our favourite Christmas morning breakfast. Make it the the night before and pop it in the oven when you wake up.

Yields1 Serving
 810 slices bread
 ham, thinly sliced (optional)
 sharp cheddar cheese, sliced (enough to cover pan)
 8 eggs
 ½ tsp salt
 ½ tsp pepper
 1 tsp dry mustard
 ¼ cup onion, minced
 ¼ cup green pepper, finely chopped
 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
 3 cups milk
 Tabasco/hot sauce
Optional
 Optional - veggies -peppers, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, mushrooms
Topping (add in the morning)
 ½ cup butter (1 stick)
 crushed corn flakes (enough to cover pan)

Butter a 9x13" glass baking dish. Put 8 slices of bread in a single layer across the bottom of the dish. Add enough to cover the dish entirely.

Cover bread with slices of ham. Add optional veggies here. Lay slices of cheese on top of ham, and cover the top with remaining slices of bread.

In a bowl, beat together eggs, salt & pepper, dry mustard, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire, milk and Tabasco. Pour over the bread mixture. Cover and let stand in the refrigerator overnight.

In the morning....

Cover with crushed corn flakes, then pour melted butter over top.

Bake uncovered 1 hour at 350º. Let sit 10 minutes before cutting in squares to serve.

This is a great time to open Christmas presents.
