Mom used to make this frosting on our cakes. It’s a cooked, kind of frothy version made with egg whites.

Yields1 Serving
 5 ½ cups Sugar
 2 tsp Corn syrup
 2 Egg whites
 ½ cup Cold water
 Flavouring of your choice - vanilla, almond, peppermint etc.

Place all ingredients in a double boiler and let stand until sugar is partially dissolved. Cook over boiling water, beating with a hand mixer until mixture forms peaks that hold their shape (4-7 minutes)
